AMD shows off its new Ryzen AI Halo Mini-PC system at CES 2026: its answer to the NVIDIA DGX Spark, powered with its Strix Halo APU.

AMD used CES 2026 to announce a new line-up of Ryzen AI processors to go up against Intel’s latest in thin-and-light laptops—and show how it’s fighting Nvidia in a new arena.

The AceMagic Kron Mini K1 is small, really small, measuring 5" x 5" x 1.6", roughly the same size as a Mac Mini. It's equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8-core CPU with a max turbo frequency of 4.5GHz and Vega 8 onboard graphics.

AMD introduced the new Ryzen 7 9850X3D desktop processor targeting gamers. Calling it the “fastest gaming processor in the Ryzen 9000X3D lineup,” the company revealed that the gaming CPU will be available via original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), system integrators (SI), and retail partners, starting in the first quarter of 2026.

Helios will go head-to-head with Nvidia’s own NVL systems, matching its latest NVL72’s 72 Rubin GPUs with 72 of AMD’s MI455X chips. It’s another sign that AMD is working to move further in on Nvidia’s turf in the AI data center market.
