Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is among the players that fans have wanted to see in the contest for years. Although the 41-year-old has yet to compete, it didn’t stop ESPN’s Dave McMenamin from asking James if he would be interested in joining this year’s competition.

Speaking of, the 3X reigning Slam Dunk contest champion announced this weekend that he has decided on whether or not to compete in the 2026 contest. Mac McClung has been wowing judges, fans, and fellow players for three straight years. But unfortunately, we will not get to see him this time.
