PLACER COUNTY, Calif. — For many Northern California families, Sunday’s storm collided with the final weekend of winter break, sending crowds into the Sierra at the same time travel conditions were turning dangerous.
At 12:29 p.m. on Sunday, the National Weather Service released a winter storm watch valid from Tuesday 4 a.m. until Thursday 4 a.m. for North Oregon Cascades, Cascades of Marion and Linn counties and Cascades of Lane County.
On Sunday at 12:56 p.m. the NWS Pendleton OR issued a winter storm watch valid from Tuesday 4 a.m. until Thursday 4 p.m. The watch is for Northwest Blue Mountains, Upper Slopes of the Eastern Washington Cascades Crest and Lower Slopes of the Eastern Washington Cascades Crest.
The watch was in place for Fayette Ridges. "The Winter Storm Watch has been replaced. Please see the latest information from NWS Pittsburgh PA on this developing situation," adds the National Weather Service.
A winter storm watch was released by the National Weather Service on Sunday at 12:56 p.m. valid from Tuesday 4 a.m. until Thursday 4 p.m. for Northern Blue Mountains of Oregon and East Slopes of the Oregon Cascades.
