In a short video posted to Instagram, founder Candace Nelson told followers, “Today is Sprinkles’ final day,” calling the shutdown “surreal.” She emphasized that she sold the company more than a decade ago and said she had no operational role when the decision to close was made.

Sprinkles is the latest popular restaurant to announce it is shuttering its doors in 2025. Popular chain restaurants like Starbucks and Denny's have closed some of their stores this year.
